Assistant Manager/Floor Clerk

Responsibilities:
All duties apply to grocery store, liquor store or grille.

  1. Present daily in a clean and orderly fashion.
  2. Greet all customers cheerfully when they enter the store.
  3. Assist customers with locating items.
  4. Complete all customer transactions.
  5. Help resolve customer complaints.
  6. Follow direction of management regarding rules and procedures.
  7. Assist in displaying stock and in restocking.
  8. Assist in performing store inventory.
  9. Assist in ordering inventory.
  10. Help maintain a clean and orderly store.
  11. Perform routine cleaning duties.
  12. Coordinate with management to ensure all safety, OSHA and Health Department Standards are maintained.
  13. Rotate stock items as required by Health Department and management.
  14. Take call-in orders for The Grille.
  15. Assist with cutting meat for customers.
  16. Check in vendors at store room door.
  17. Assists cook when necessary.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma/GED required.
  2. 2+ years experience as a clerk in a related retail industry.
  3. Able to read and follow management instructions.
  4. Strong knowledge of grocery store or convenience store procedures.
  5. Able to work with a team in a busy retail atmosphere

Cook

GateWay Market & Grille prides itself on the culinary creations served from its kitchen. Our cooks are experienced and passionate individuals. Our cooks have previous experience preparing food in a Restaurant or Grille. They enjoy working in a busy restaurant environment and are capable of taking direction well and working effectively multi-tasking. They have a passion for food preparation and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates with management to ensure all safety, OSHA and Health Department Standards are maintained
  2. Measure and assemble ingredients for food items
  3. Collaborate with management and other cooks to prepare meals during dining hours
  4. Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
  5. Rotate stock items as required by health department and management
  6. Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
  7. Ensure that food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of each tour
  8. Other duties as assigned

 REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School diploma/GED required
  2. 2+ years experience as a cook in the restaurant industry
  3. Able to read and follow standardized recipes
  4. Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  5. Able to work with a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
  6. Serve Safe Certification
